Miss Mattie!

Okay! Okay! I have finally decided to update my blog. I know the suspense is killing you all! First let me tell you about how Miss Mattie became part of my loving family. Around November I got this hair brain idea that I wanted a cat. I needed a cuddly little critter to keep me company while Tyler and Tanner were not here. So, a few weeks passed and I just kept putting it off and off. Before I knew it Christmas was right around the corner. When everyone asked me what I wanted for Christmas I just told them that I wanted a cat. Well, let’s just say on Christmas morning I was very disappointed to find out that I didn’t get a cat.

After the holidays were over I decided that I was going to go to the pound and adopt a cat. I don’t like to go anywhere without someone tagging along. I decided to call up Michelle and make her go with me. As, we get to the pound I was so excited that I couldn’t stand it. We got back to the kittens and the next thing I know Michelle is telling me I have red splotches all over my neck. Oh I get those all the time when I get nervous or excited. It’s nothing to worry about. Next thing I know I am itching like crazy, my eyes are swelling and I can barely breathe!! WHAT? THIS CAN’T BE HAPPENING TO ME! I have grown up around cats my whole life! Michelle looks at me like I am a walking freak and mumbles I think you are allergic to cats!

I was devastated! Now I can’t be the old cat lady that lives down the street from her mother!
Anyway, that is when Miss Mattie came into my life. My friends’ moms’ friend just had a baby and Mattie did not like it at all. So, they called me. I took Mattie for the weekend and couldn’t give her back. She is perfect! Mattie is grouchy, snappy, and snuggly just like me! The stresses of not being able to be cat woman have now disappeared, because now I get to be DOG WOMAN!!!

So here she is MISS MATTIE!

My New Addition!

Stay tuned for my update!

A Day of Mourning!!

There is really nothing I can say about Sunday afternoon except that the Cardinals went down with a fight and a good one. I was so disappointed that Tanner and I had to have a moment to ourselves to regroup. Of course everyone at the Superbowl party was cheering for the Cardinals accept for Tyler. He was so excited! Let me just say the kid scored big!

Don't worry I didn't buy that Jersey. I would never do such a horrific act. Steelers is his team, which I must say I am pretty disappointed in him! Just kidding! During football season it is quite the circus around here. There is a Dallas Cowboys fan, a Indianapolis Colts Fan, and a Pittsburg Steelers fan. We have a lot of fun Sunday's around the Evan's household during football season.

A New Year!

The holidays have come and gone and let me just say I couldn’t be more relieved! The scraps have been picked up off the floor, the Christmas decorations are down, and things are finally back to normal. From Thanksgiving to now there has been a lot going on. From turkey to gingerbread houses, chocolates to caramel, and eating a ton of treats, I didn’t have time to keep up on my blog. So, I have finally got a few minutes to let you know what has been going on.

Thanksgiving break was short and sweet! I didn’t have time to do anything but study and write papers. I had so much school work to do that I didn’t even get to go shopping the day after Thanksgiving. I was so disappointed because that is something I LOVE TO DO!!!

During December there always is a lot going on, but on of my favorite things to do is make gingerbread houses. The sad thing is that last year I didn’t even get to participate because of school and this year I was demoted to helping! YUCK!! The disappointment was more than I could take. Michelle and I usually have our houses planned, mapped out, and constructed on graph paper months in advance. This year we were nothing but gophers, which wasn't as bad as I am making it sound.

Tanner always makes sure that his house is perfect! Tyler is just glad he hasn't been demoted!

I did however get promoted in the world of candy making. This year I was given the privilege of dipping the chocolates instead of being the gopher. It was nice to have my mother warm up my rice bag, refill my diet Pepsi, and feed me when I asked. I wished my kids listened and moved as fast as she did.

Christmas came faster than I wanted it too! There was so much going on that I didn’t start shopping until it was almost too late. I hate shopping as it is, but to throw me in with five times the people is my worst nightmare. I couldn’t have done it if it wasn’t for my BFF, Natalie. There was nothing more exciting than watching Tyler and Tanner on Christmas morning. Tanner was up and gracing me with his presence at two o’clock in the morning. He didn’t go back to sleep until nine o’clock that night.

I hope I didn't bore you all with my Christmas Stories. I hope you all have a safe and Happy New Years!
